Welcome to our Eco page.
As a school, we are very keen on ensuring our children and staff take care of their environment. On this page, you will find everything you need to know about what we do as a school to look after our environment and how we are eco-friendly.
All disposable cutlery we use is compostable including spoons and cups so no waste occurs.
Instead of using disposable cups, all children are provided with reusable school water bottles.
All classes are provided with a paper recycling box which is emptied by our caretaker and recycled.
A Biomass boiler which uses enviro-friendly wood pellets was installed. Wood pellets are a sustainable fuel source and will not produce carbon dioxide emissions to harm the environment.
A new roof insulation programme has been carried out and, together with newly installed windows, means the school is as energy efficient as possible.
The school utilises an Air Source Heat Pump.
There is LED lighting throughout the school.
The school is equipped with 140 solar panels installed on the school's roof. In the first 5 months of 2023, the panels have generated 31.8MWh of electricity. Over the total life of the panels, a saving of £13.8 tonnes of Co2 emissions has been made.
